Customized policies, procedures and training

Lockout/Tagout is the control of hazardous energy. It is meant to prevent the startup of machinery or the release of stored energy during maintenance/servicing of equipment that can potentially cause injury to employees.

LOTO is one part of an overall Hazardous Energy Control Program and requires written procedures for each piece of equipment. Locks and tags must be able to survive the environment they are being used in. Employee’s must be be trained on understanding the written procedures, the hazards associated with the machines and understanding the lockout devices and tags.

Written lockout/tagout procedures should be reviewed at least annually, with a periodic inspection to ensure that they are effective and followed correctly. Whenever there are changes to equipment, processes or personnel the LOTO procedures should also be reviewed. SRCO provides the help to ensure these reviews stay regular and current. For more information on our annual inspections please see our Annual Inspection page.

Safety Resources provides LOTO policies, customized written procedures and the training for affected/authorized employees. We also provide a full line of LOTO devices and tags, see our catalog for a comprehensive list of equipment available.
